The Digital Humanist Manifesto
Why this manifesto now: AI is rewriting the conditions of human agency. This manifesto centers dignity, accountability, and shared stewardship, so technology serves people, not the other way around.
We are not here to worship the Machine. We are here to elevate the Human.
In an age where algorithms decide what we see and artificial intelligence writes our poetry, I choose a different path: the path of Rebellious Awareness.
I am Franco Bagaglia, and this is my pledge: I won’t just teach you which keys to press; I will teach you how to conduct the orchestra.
I Believe in Technology that Breathes.
Computer science is not cold binary code; it is humanity’s new language. But a language without poetry is merely bureaucracy. My mission is to inject ethics, history, and philosophy into the circuits of the future, to democratize knowledge, not to dumb it down, but to make it powerful in everyone’s hands.
I Believe in Doubt as a Superpower.
While everyone chases fast answers, I celebrate the slow question. AI can give us the answer, but only a human can ask why. In this space, we cultivate critical thinking as the only true antivirus against manipulation.
I Believe in Connection, not just Connectivity.
Networking isn’t about exchanging “likes”. It’s about exchanging an idea, a vision, a fear, a hope, building a digital agora where the student and the professor, the technician and the philosopher, sit at the same table to design tomorrow.
This is not a monologue. It is a choir.
If you feel that technology must serve life… if you believe that ethics is the only truly sustainable innovation… if you want to stop being a passive passenger of progress and become its conscious pilot… then you are home.
Welcome to Digital Humanism. Let’s make the future human, together.
, Franco Bagaglia
